Apt Repositories

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

If I have multiple apt repositories listed, and do an apt-get install
<packagename>, what happens if there are different versions of that package
spread out across the repositories?

Example:
Rep1 has gaim 0.6x
Rep2 has gaim 0.7x

Which one am I going to get? Or is apt strong enough to figure that out and
either get the latest, or prompt?

That said, is there a list of best repositories? I know there are tons out
there, just curious about whats good to use.
