Internet address lookup and ssh problem

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I am having the following two problems:

Could not look up internet address for hxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx.
This will prevent GNOME from operating correctly.
It may be possible to correct the problem by adding
hxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx to the file /etc/hosts.

ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

I resolve the first one by adding hxxx-xxx-xxx-xxx to my hosts file as suggested but I am wondering if this would cause my ssh login attempt to fail. Can some assist me in solving both problems.

Thanks,
Noel
