Thanks, but I have a couple questions.

How do I 'jump to another console' whilst in the redhat installation GUI?
Should I put the firewire drivers on a Floppy? another cd (I have 2 cd
drives)?

Thanks,

You're about to have a very steep learning curve.

I HAVE to suggest you read some documentation here. If you don't know how to switch consoles, then you are attempting something quite a bit beyond you.

Try reading some documentation at http://www.tldp.org and ofcourse the fine RedHat manuals present on their web site (you really should read those).

Having said that - on a stock RedHat install, you have 7 virtual terminals at your fingertips. When RedHat installs, it shows/runs different processes on these virtual terminals all to do with the installation. You switch to these terminals using the <Alt> <Fn Key> combination. For example, Alt-F1 is VT1, Alt-F2 is VT2 etc.

You see some interesting things on each of these terminals when installing RedHat.

Find one with a prompt, and use your own commands from there.

Regards,
Ed.
