When you have a line like this:
Received: from foo.com (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1])
is it advantageous to remove your localhost entry from /etc/hosts to keep this from happening? If not, should this be corrected and if so, how?

This may be fixed with the MASQUERADE_AS option in your mail server config?
Other than that I don't know.
