Hi,

2.6.something is the kernel version, you're probably on RHEL5 or RHEL6 (see /etc/redhat-release).  If you say you upgrade to 2.6 what redhat release and kernel version were you on before?

When you say the uninstall hung I assume you're referring to the uninstallation of the NVidia drivers?

Have you tried booting from the previous kernel?
