Y'know, I was just thinking about this whole thing, and two questions popped up: first, why wasn't the first thing he did either RTFM, or call the vendor of Remedy? The only reasons that I can think of that he didn't do the latter was a) his management doesn't let anyone but the high level people call, possibly becuase they got the minimal support contract, or b) because it's a pirated copy of very expensive commercial software.
