Thought I'd report back that the IBM ServeRaid M1015 46M0861 LSI SAS
9220-8i SAS/SATA PCI-E RAID Controller that I bought on eBay for
nearly $40 from China did not work in my Asus Z370-A motherboard. It
detected the card, but made all the onboard SATA devices disappear,
and Asus support couldn't make it play nice with the onboard
controller.

Amazingly, the vendor took it back after stipulating "no returns", and
promised to reimburse the $14.50 shipping back to China.

Now I'm stuck without an SAS card. Any other HBA card recommendations?

Are the 9211 cards older than the 9220, I'm assuming? I don't really
want to spend more than $125.

Thanks,
Alex
