First off thanks for bringing IBM ServeRAID or Dell PERC versions to my attention. Damn these are cheap. SAS2008 looks like a work horse with a perfectly transparent dumb mode. But I'm wondering if you guys can help me with some of the "newer" stuff. If I go for say a SAS2108 or maybe something in the 3xxx series can I use the cache with IT firmware? Would that even make sense?
