Justin's having trouble with the Raptor (10,000 RPM) models.

I have been running md RAID on > 50 WD RE/RE2/RE3 7200 500/750GB for some years now without trouble.

Justin, have you tried contacting WD support via email? I had good technically knowledgable support from them a while back.
Yeah, I tried it in the past, I am giving it another try now.

The 750s seem to be rock solid drives, agree with you there, have another system
here that has quite a few of them, no problems with it.
