All, Is there a document / wiki that tells what the capabilities of mdadm --grow are? ie. Per the man page, it has some basic capability, but the capabilities may be growing over time. That doesn't really tell me much. Is it by chance kernel dependent, or is the --grow feature totally implemented in user space. FYI: Their is NAS box (QNAP TS509) that is ubuntu based that claims to do both online raid expansion and online raid migration. It may just be using mdadm --grow to implement this?
