software iSCSI + raid5?

Has anyone tried this out on linux yet? Software based iSCSI to overcome the "how do I physically add more drives" problem, and raid5 for redundancy?

Probably not the fastest, but I'm looking for reliable, cheap, massive storage. And, I suspect others are too. On a private gigabit ethernet subnet, or (god willing) infiniband, this might be really nice.
