Yes it is. Try autodetecting it in BIOS setup and play with the 
LBA/LARGE/Normal/... option manually, in the settings.

Either that or your drive isn't detected properly at all and perhaps the 
board needs a BIOS update. If your "new" board really is a new one, I 
don't think that's the case but you can try it anyway.

Or find a similar system to your old one to plug it into temporarily 
just to recover your data, and then start over on your new system.
