I was meaning to suggest this a few days ago as well. I'm glad Dale
did. Since I typically build and destroy a few dozens arrays each day this
would be really useful. I assume it's analogous to:

dd if=/dev/zero of=<device> bs=1k seek=<sboffset> count=4

which is what I've been using. I vote for --erase-superblock (no short
option).
