Hm. This illustrates that there is more than one opinion about the default. The problem here is that sometimes line-out is used as headphone-out. Also "NuForce DAC-80" USB audio card that has a hardware volume control knob, and I found out that 100% hardware and 100% usb-mixer volume on that card is enough to overload analog inputs of a Final Sound FVSS 201/Ð receiver. So, I think that the original plan with a 30% default on all analog outputs is better. P.S. I do not own any of hardware mentioned in this email.
