Are other people > having the same trouble? Yes. This is standard behaviour. Ideally people wouldn't include their signature line before any meaningful replies, but we all make mistakes sometimes. If/when this happens, just do a select-all before hitting reply and Thunderbird will quote the selected text. Typically this feature is used to cut down on what is quoted in replies, but it works here too.
