I was kinda holding off committing until everything had settled. I don't
want to push something into a release (which means the API is fixed
etc.) without being 100% sure eveything would fit together.

But that said the latest round of patches sent by Jorge are pretty self
contained, so perhaps we should push them before 1.0.... They do not
seem to do anything by themselves (without specific external
configuration), and thus should not really cause us any problems.

We can also put in caveats that the UCM based defines are not final and
thus may be subject to change until we state otherwise (this is also
what we will do with the DBus stuff, so it's not unprecedented).

I'll see what David things and then take a decision on that this week. I
certainly don't want to hold things up by being over cautious.
