Greetings, I'm working on a computer with a 5.1 sound card and am running Debian Sid. $ dpkg -l pulseaudio ii pulseaudio 0.9.21-1.2 PulseAudio sound server $ lspci -vvv | grep audio 02:09.0 Multimedia audio controller: Cirrus Logic CS 4614/22/24/30 [CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator] (rev 01) I've tweaked /etc/pulse/daemon.conf as follows: ; default-sample-channels = 2 default-sample-channels = 6 ; default-channel-map = front-left,front-right default-channel-map = front-left,front-right,rear-left,rear-right,front-center,lfe and restarted pulse. However, I see that my channels are still at two: $ pactl list [snip] Sink #0 State: SUSPENDED Name: alsa_output.pci-0000_02_09.0.analog-stereo Description: CS 4614/22/24/30 [CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator] Analog Stereo Driver: module-alsa-card.c Sample Specification: s16le 2ch 44100Hz Channel Map: front-left,front-right Do I need to configure alsa for 5.1 sound as well as PA? Thanks for any advice, -matt zagrabelny
