At this late stage, considering Ubuntu's beta was released last week, there is no chance for a newer alsa and pulse code base to get in, particularly alsa, since it requires shifting the entire alsa stack to 1.0.19 which is way too dangerous. Ubuntu 9.10 will have alsa 1.0.19 or possibly later, depending on what kernel 2.6.30 has, and pulse 0.9.15 at least, if not 1 or 2 versions higher, depending on Lennart's plans.
