Do these patches > only work on the git directory of alsa? The changes since the release of 1.0.17 in GIT are pretty minimal: http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-lib.git I am thus pretty sure that the problems you are experiencing are due to the fact that you copied that patch from a web browser. Consider getting them directly from GIT. Or at least from gitweb as raw patches: curl http://git.alsa-project.org/?p=alsa-lib.git;a=blobdiff_plain;f=src/pcm/pcm_plugin.c;fp=src/pcm/pcm_plugin.c;h=c199d8df71def0e4f456ed061bd9e3895a6deb57;hp=c73a02b21f2f0a0e55365a7d9cffb7ea91d1e906;hb=0fbfe2d8d6aac06e6615b7109ffc1fea8c62dee6;hpb=f78af4ab0412052aabb74c9122a8d8f3ab6d45e6 | patch -p1 And like that. Just use the URLs from the "raw" links in gitweb. Lennart -- Lennart Poettering Red Hat, Inc. lennart [at] poettering [dot] net ICQ# 11060553 http://0pointer.net/lennart/ GnuPG 0x1A015CC4
