can't get pulseaudio-esound-compat to work

Ok, I don't want to make this game too easy.. but here is another
hint. Look what I found in my syslog

/var/log/syslog:Mar 26 22:32:17 localhost pulseaudio[4835]:
module-esound-compat-spawnfd.c: WARNING: write(18, 1, 1) failed:
Broken pipe

any ideas?
