Hi, Alan.  You're absolutely correct, of course.  I have been recompiling
Asterisk;  in fact, just to be sure this wasn't the problem, I've been
deleting the entire contents of the asterisk modules directory, and
starting out with a "make clean" in the Asterisk source directory before I
do recompile.

Any other ideas?  I'm at my wits' end on this.
