Linking libraries in iPhone and Android

Hello all,
I am trying to run the pjsua application on windows, android and iPhone. I
have been successful in compiling and running it on all three platforms. My
query is :
I noticed that all the libraries are being statically linked in iPhone sua,
whereas in Android, a libpjsua_app.so file is being used. I think the
android approach is more efficient and hence was wondering if there is a
similar approach to be followed on iPhone.

If not, could someone please tell me why are we using all the *.a file
directly in the ipjsua xproject.

Regards,
