Expires = 0 in between a running call

the Proxy would NOT do that on it's own unless it's a rogue one ;o)

Check the logs of your UA and you'll find the reason why your
Application is initiating the registration tear down.

Using a mobile app, foreground/background automatic unregistration?!?
