There is a special service by the name of AxIS (ActiveX Installation Service), which allows you to install an ActiveX if you are running as a standard user, so even from a standard user you can install an ActiveX control if your admin has approved it. As a protected admin or root admin you can do whatever want. BTW, with Windows 7 AxIS has been further improved. Cheers, Hitesh
