Existing APS wrapper doesn't really use APS/hardware codecs, basically it works with PCM only, it's using G.711 since APS doesn't support PCM, that's why there is ulaw/alaw conversion in it. If you need to make use of APS/hardware codecs, there is an on-going project called APS-direct, stay tune :) Regards, nanang On Tue, Jan 20, 2009 at 12:16 PM, manoj at ascenttelecom.com <manoj at ascenttelecom.com> wrote: > Does that mean if we use existing APS wrapper, we still need to implement > our own coders and decoders? > > Original Message: > ----------------- > From: manoj@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx manoj at ascenttelecom.com > Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2009 11:33:30 -0500 > To: pjsip at lists.pjsip.org, pjsip at lists.pjsip.org > Subject: Symbian_Sound_APS.cpp confusion > > > Hello Guys, > > I think in case APS is selected to use, APS is supposed to do codec related > encoding and decoding but i saw pjmedia_ulaw_encode and pjmedia_ulaw_decode > functions in Symbian_Sound_APS.cpp files. > > Does that mean encoding and decoding is taken care by pjmedia rather than > APS? > > Regards, > > Manoj > > -------------------------------------------------------------------- > mail2web.com ?
