Sudhaker, if you remember what I said the other day about 'What Is XML'. Well, RSS is just XML - no more, no less. The only difference is that it is a specific implementation of XML. You also remember I said that to be able to understand the XML, you need a DTD (Document Type Definition) explaining what all the tags are. Well, RSS is exactly the same. You have to create the right RSS tags for people to understand your information. A simple RSS feed looks like this :-

XML.com

XML.com features a rich mix of information and services for the XML community.

Normalizing XML, Part 2

In this second and final look at applying relational normalization techniques to W3C XML Schema data modeling, Will Provost discusses when not to normalize, the scope of uniqueness and the fourth and fifth normal forms.

You can see, for a valid RSS feed, you MUST have the
,
and
tags. Some of the other tags you can see in the example are optional. This is version 0.9 of the RSS XML format. If you want to use version 1.0, then the tags are slightly different, but you must still use exactly the right format that the DTD describes. If you look at http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns, you will see one of the DTD documents for RSS, called RDF. Don't worry about understanding it - you just need to know that for any XML format, there should be a matching definition document.
