Hello, Many shared hosting plans already provide php5, as for mysql, upgrading to 4.1 will be the next big move in the hosting configs Knowing that the final release of mysql4.1 is only a couple of months away.... if you predict that your site will be online only after that, then y're better off with this "advanced" config. alternatively, if your content structure isn't that complicated, you could go with plain text files for storage... Whatever your choice, allways use Unicode (when possible) instead of language specific charsets if you want your app to be truly portable between languages and avoid charset conversion scripts as they can mess with your data in an unpredictable way.
