I guess it may also be interesting to know if:

(other than work/day-job/client requires it)
Usually just choose the language that best fits the application at
hand. No real magic to it.
(2) about to jump in to another language
I mentioned Python above, not as a replacement for any of the other
languages, but just because I want to know it.
