However, some may consider it a wise idea to wait until at least 5.3.1 before putting it into production. The public final release of PHP 5.3.0 is still a few days off, so starting with 5.2 and then introducing the 5.3 branch during the course could not only be a great idea for the OP, but also an exciting evolution during the class, showing also in real-time how open source projects advance. -- </Daniel P.
