My users are having problems downloading .doc or .xls files linked to from PHP pages; when they click on the link, IE returns an error stating that the file cannot be found. Firefox, however, seems to be able to find the file and open it just fine. >From what I can tell, this is related to a known IE issue which prevents users from being able to download files from a secure site if the headers on the page are set to prevent caching. However, our site is not a secure site, nor do we have headers which prevent caching. This has been bugging me for weeks. I advise our users to use Firefox, but not all of them are able to do so; and since they pay our bills, we don't have much of an option. If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate hearing them. -- Richard S.
