The basic trust model of an SSL cert is:

You fill out a form and pay them $200 (or so) and they trust you.

Doesn't make a whole lotta sense to me, really, but there it is.

I suppose they do some kind of minimal background check on you as part
of the process, but still...

You can Google for buying an SSL Cert.

Installing it is a question of uploading it to the right directory
and/or adding/editing a single line in your web server configuration.
