Try using ob_start() and ob_end() to grab your image.:
ob_start(); imagejpeg($new,$dir.'view/'.$name,85);
ob_end_clean();

things run ...
Ok, thank you for your code - unfortunately the result is the same
(I added the picture as attachement)
Maybe php is not responsible for that - should I try another GD library
version or image Magik version?
