Thanks! I did try to start over by deleting php5 and issuing make, make install and make clean. However, the result was just the same. I need to go to BSD lists to find out how to completely wipe out PHP from the system so that there is no trace of it left. Would that be a good solution for a newbie in *nix systems in general?
