in windows,if user idle for 1 minute,his desktop
screen is changed to screen saver.i like to implement
the same logic in my project if user is idle for 3

You have to set the session timeout to 3 minutes.
Or set a javascript that automatically routes to a site that kills the session when the user is idle for 3 minutes.
you could set a <META> html tag for that also.

Note: session_cache_expire() and session_cache_limiter() has to be set before session_start()
