doubt regarding while loop

hi,
   for eg 
                          
while(list(t1,t2,...)=mysql_fetch_row($result)):
                            endwhile;
 while i use $t1 ouside while loop ,its corresponding
value is not  displaying,how can i display the value
of $t1.
