You have Dir x, y, z, w. In each dir you have files 1 through n. What you want to do is loop through each dir and then loop through each drawing and look for some pattern in the title block and then append the query info there. If this is the case: you should use chdir() to change dirs. Then you can readdir() and loop through the files.
