I'm going to agree with Jay... most users are lazy enough that if you just require them to have a user account then that will suffice. Since this is only for a joke site that would be my suggestion as well. However, if you really, really wanted to identify remote *computers* then you can try tracking the clock skew of the client which is making that request.
