Installing MySQL from source is an option, but installing the MySQL development rpm is a much quicker option. rpm -Uvh ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/7.3/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/mysql-devel-3.23.49-3.i386.rpm Then run ldconfig.
