I have been frustrated for 2 days now trying to get Apache 2.2 and PHP5 to work together on my new laptop.
No joy.
My old laptop worked fine with Apache 1.3 and PHP4
These are the steps that I have followed. (I have googled this problem and have plenty of similar problems without a workable solution)
1. Install Apache 2.2.15 using MSI from apache.org with server name 'localhost'
2. connect to http://localhost . get 'It works!'. So far so good
3. Manual install of php5.3.2
4. Edit httpd.conf and add these lines.LoadModule php5_module "d:/php/php5apache2_2.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
PHPIniDir "d:/php"5. edit index.php to add phpinfo()
<html><body><h1>It works!</h1></body></html>
<?
phpinfo();
?>
6. Restart Apache
7. connect to http://localhost/index.php
8.Get get 'It works!' (no phpinfo())
9. View source of page<html><body><h1>It works!</h1></body></html>
<?
phpinfo();
?>10. Apache error log below

I would appreciate any help to preserve my sanity.
