PHP Installation problems: xmlParserInputBufferCreateFilenameDefault: referenced symbol not found

Hi,
 I am stuck with PHP installation since couple of days!
Here is the stpes I followed:

Box using:
SunOS 5.10 Generic_118833-17 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-80:

gcc -v

I have not done SSL CERT part yet (certificates) so only apache works but not with https.

httpd: Syntax error on line 53 of /www/apache2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load /www/apache2/modules/libphp5.so into server: ld.so.1: httpd: fatal: relocation error: file /www/apache2/modules/libphp5.so: symbol
 xmlParserInputBufferCreateFilenameDefault: referenced symbol not found

I am not an expert but I tried with other options as well, but getting the same error. Definitely I must be missing something..
