I wonder.
A B&W image what profile should it have? A greyscale, or should it be converted to sRGB?

Guidelines for participating in the 2018 PhotoForum members’ catalog.

CONTRIBUTIONS SHOULD BE SENT TO ANDREW DAVIDHAZY AT andpph@xxxxxxx with the word BOOK in the subject line.

The collection of members' photographs is planned to be printed in a 9x7 inch (landscape) softcover book. Each member is assigned two pages. One page will carry a photograph that may be a single image or one made up of several photographs. If a page is made up of more than one image author must submit a single image on a white background so it can easily be laid into the photo page. Or separate images can be sent but with a layout photo to assist in final placement into a given page. The contributed photograph (whether single or made up of several images) should have a size of about 3000 pixels in the longest dimension. If you have a particular design in mind actually it would be helpful if you send a complete page rather than individual images.

A full sized photograph on a page (whether single or made up of several smaller ones) would be up to 6.5 x 8.5 inches in size. At 300 ppi this would be 1950 by 2550 pixels. Larger submissions OK but contributed photographs will be made to fit either heighthwise or lengthwise to one of these dimensions.

An alternative is to contribute two photographs (one for each page but then the text block(s) will accept fewer characters.

Panoramic photographs (whether single or made up of several smaller ones) will be made to fit a space of 17.5 inches lengthwise. At 300 ppi this would be a length of 5250 pixels.

RGB, JPEG and compressed to HIGH quality - maximum not necessary.

The photograph should be accompanied by a text document that includes such things as the autor's name, photo or sequence title, a statement about the photograph(s) if desired, a brief biography including country of "practice" (if desired), email and website (if applicable)

Text for the text page should not be a lengthy discourse as space is limited. Just keep in mind how big a 9x7 inch page is and prepare text accordingly.
Font Hoeffler Text - size is 10 pt for text. Name, etc. larger.

Text font will be uniform throughout the book although if you want a specific font you must supply the text laid out and designed as you would like it to be.

The deadline for receiving contributions will be the last day of March 2018 at midnight EST in the US.

There is no fee or charge for being included in the book!

Andy
