Regarding #2, I tend to agree to this aspect of people "control" -- in the same way we "control" the use of automobiles, for example.

And speaking of automobiles. . . 

Regarding #3, I have never heard of someone using an automobile in an attempt to cause willful destruction. But look how often guns and assault weapons are used -- just because of the easy access to legal and illegal firearms.

Hah!  If anything, it makes people less courteous.  Try living in the rural south where everybody carries a gun to the local Walmart.  That does not make anybody any safer - just the opposite.  If something doesn't change here in the USA, I'm moving to a country that has sensible gun control.
