Bear in mind that most “models” on Model Mayhem are not professionals, do not work like professionals, and yet will do things like stand on their heads and blow bananas out of their asses. They have mostly had so much smoke blown at them by the aforementioned shooters, that they believe fame to be just around the corner. Now that we guys are all shooters, any woman who seemingly believes herself to look ’special’, is now a model. A friend at Canon tells me they have sold 5+ million 5D’s. I’m sure fewer than 50k were bought by pro’s, so…. wannabe’s now populate the photo world.
