When I was 19, 54 years ago, I had a choice to make, a Triumph TR2 or school.  I chose school which ultimately led to a forty year career with IBM.  One day at a local sports car club meeting a guy my Dad's age  or so asked about a rally we were planning.  After the explanation he said he wanted to join us but needed a navigator.  I was without a car so I volunteered.  Sunday morning my Dad and I finished breakfast we looked out the front window and saw a Porsche 356 Speedster.  My Dad asked if I was going out in that.  I came home wanting one.  While in school and discovered women.  I now have my first wife, FIFTY years this Friday, one daughter and  three sons. I started photography with an Argus C3.  Then a Rollei SL35 then an Olympus OM-1N and OM-1MD, and an OM-2, I was apart timer in a camera shop,  A Canon A2e, converted to and EOS 5, and an EOS 3, an EOS 20D, 50D, and a 5D Mkii.  Still no Porsche. I had three Mustangs, the most recent with five speed stick shift.  My wife asked if I was in my second childhood when I bought the five speed.  I explained that growing od was mandatory but growing up wasn't.

I've been called a dirty old man among other things, but most recently a "ROMEO" by one of the sample ladies at Costco.   Retired Old Man Eating Out.  BTW,  I'm still wanting a Porsche.....

I just went through the little book again, and if there is one emotion its contents bring to me it is one of sadness. Nostalgia ain?t what it used to be.

All of the participants are highly skilled, have been with photography a long time, and know how to express themselves with a camera. I think it?s a shame we haven?t put together more of these volumes, as together the contents seem to portray a group older photographers either in retirement or about to be.
