the camera doens't use optimized jpg LUT.  It uses a baseline lut so they will be different.   Each will place different priorities on what bits are important or not important. the probably also use different vs of JPG engine and even a difference of 1 in how it calculates the compression will make s difference in how they are encoded.

The funny thing is the Pentax jpg has the detail spaced differently than the jpg from a raw file. And external measurements are the same! I guess this falls into the strange  but true category.

FYI if you want to see the difference between your camera jpg and say a 16bit tiff from raw paste the jpg into your raw conversion file in Photoshop and set the blend mode to difference.   pure black = no difference.
