Kodak was first brought down by its belief that autofocus was a shot in the dark and just a fad. Having 20 million (I may be missing a zero) ounces of silver on hand didn?t help either especially when an overzealous planner bought in more at about $30/oz instead of the reported $2/oz it cost in the 1950?s.
