Ahem: The wrap is not what I would patent or copyright. I would protect the contents. Wraps are everywhere including on 747’s.

I  never want to wrap a 747 because the wrap goes on the body, not the 5500 sq ft wings -- that’s 5500 sf per side. Vinyl is about $5-8/sf so the vinyl is about $200k plus install. No thanks. Btu vinyl reportedly weighs less than paint. I don’t know how big the body is, but I can see it’s big enough to scare me.

Yes, I’ve been to the rodeo before and if one can avoid lawyers, so much the better. In 40 years I have managed to never date a lawyer; it has not been by accident.

My copyrights are (I hope) on file with LoC, but barring that, they have all been on my websites where small copies they have been stolen by the best for years. The service called tineye.com will find your images if they are not where you want them to be. Its been embarrassing when US Fortune 500 Corps have stolen work. Sadly the list is fairly long.

Does not design copyright exist to protect a particular image.

The concept is "design patent".  Copyright protects images.

If you have devised a unique process this could be covered by a patent

Sorry, not unique.  There are lots and lots of automobile wraps out there.  Most are advertising.

However the real costs arise if you pursue legally someone who infringes your rights.

Patent law suits can be really expensive.  Copyright suits not so much especially if the work is registered so you can claim statutory damages.  Since Jan has been to the rodeo before, we can assume his works are registered.

Right on, ideas are not patentable.
