Randy Little - WALL
Stucco doesn't like water. What's on the other side of the wall that it needs to be so ferociously high and why are the two women facing a blank wall? Too many people in the image if the subject is the wall. I wish there were some light which might reveal why those people are there.
Well
at that location the other side of that wall is 40 feet a fill,
barracks or storage and then the other side of the wall. Although this
wall is inside another wall which is encompasses the whole section.
There is no stucco. Just calcium carbonate the eats through the paint
as it has for the past 600 years. The brick you see at the top is the same as what is behind the red.

Light on that wall is RARE to say the least. Sun in Beijing is rare in the summer to say the least. (worse in the winter) The Man and Woman facing the wall are doing so because that how people eat. If they sat the other way their stuff would just get trampled on a normal day. When you go during non tourist season everything in China is better :-) I am there usually a couple times a year for work. without people in the shot you would lose 2 things. Contest of environment and size.
