Well I personally don't use lightroom cause its crappy. I use Extensis portfolio with Capture one. Its much more powerful combination. But you can use Capture one with Lightroom if you like the way its DAM works.

The only time I've gotten a message like that was whenever I try to open a .CR2 file in Photoshop. For some reason, I'm unable to update camera raw on my machines. I shouldn't have to convert them to .dng, it's freakin' ridiculous.

I'm working on processing some old images. When I go to the Lightroom Photo > Edit In > PSCS3 command (like I do for all my editing between LR and PSCS3) I get this error message:
Lightroom was unable to prepare the selected file at /Volumes/family tres/rachel collection/rachel's twos/july05/july12-wading pool/IMG_4415.CR2 for editing.
It will not be opened.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how I might correct it?
I've optimized the catalog. I've tested the file and it does open so I know it's not corrupt. I wish to use the Edit In command to keep the link between the image and LR active for archiving purposes.
Thanks for your help.
