I've seen dust on images from p&s digis. Too many moving parts to absolutely keep the dust out.
For a couple years I could afford two identical bodies and lenses dedicated to them. They were pre dust-removal in the bodies so, even without ever changing the lenses, the sensors needed cleaning at least once a month when I was shooting every day.
Then I bought a 7D and the entire problem vanished.
But my supposedly well gasketted 7D, advertised as protected against moisture and grit by professional quality seals, has died due to salt water moisture in only 15 months. $1300 down the drain.
I bought a 60D to replace it. No gaskets but half the price and it still has dust removal.
